    Sustainability is
    an important part

of our company policy. But profitability is naturally also a decisive factor. With LED lighting we achieve both: we reduce our energy consumption and at the same time improve the CO2 balance of our printing work.”

    Customer challenge

Koopmanndruck is a printing pioneer. Since it was founded in 1924, it has stayed at the forefront of technology and techniques within its industry. In 2012, with sustainability high on its priority list, Koopmanndruck sought LED lighting for its production facility.

    The right lighting

Making the switch to LED was an important decision for Koopmanndruck. The company had already taken measures towards climate neutral production, utilizing solar energy and green power in its facilities. The new lighting system would have to support these efforts while enabling staff to correctly evaluate print quality in the 3500m2 facility.

Maxos LED was chosen for the job. Its bright beams and excellent color rendering meant that it would make it easier for the team to judge the quality of their print work. After careful calculations, the new fixtures were set to increase the illuminations from 200-300 lux up to 600-700, providing brighter illumination without any distracting glare.

The Maxos light was designed for easy exchange with conventional fixtures, as it can be mounted on existing support rails. In just three days, 800 fluorescent tubes were replaced with the new lamps. The industrial lighting was installed with through-wiring, so that a light management system can be added at any time to save energy and reduce costs. With the new lights in place, the company is achieving its environmental goals, and working conditions have been vastly improved for staff.

Thanks to the energy-efficient lighting we installed, Koopmanndruck is achieving electricity savings of almost 67%. In addition, C02 emissions were reduced by an impressive 70%. The company estimates savings of 27,000 euros per year as a result.
